The petitioner with a grievance that certain corrections have been made during the UDR Survey has submitted an application before the first respondent/the Tahsildar, on 25.11.2013 and filed this writ petition that his application filed in the year 2013 has not been considered by the respondents so far. 2.Mrs.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2 submits that the concerned authority to deal with the UDR correction is the District Revenue Officer. However, instead of submitting the application before the District Revenue Officer concerned, the petitioner has submitted an application before the Tahsildar and the petitioner has not followed up later after the submission of the application. The petitioner has once again submitted an application before the 2/5
Tahsildar on 14.07.2023. The application of the petitioner has now been forwarded to the District Revenue Officer, Thanjavur for further action.
3.The application submitted by the petitioner in the year 2013, though it has been submitted before the wrong authority, it has been kept without any progress for the past 10 years. Moreover the application submitted by the petitioner on 14.07.2023 has now been forwarded to the District Revenue Officer, Thanjavur. Considering that the District Revenue Officer is the authority to deal with the UDR corrections, the District Revenue Officer, Thanjavur is suo motu impleaded as the fourth respondent in this writ petition and the learned Special Government Pleader is directed to take notice for the fourth respondent also.
4.In view of the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction 3/5
to the District Revenue Officer, Thanjavur to conclude the proceedings as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
