ORDER
The petitioner with a grievance that the history sheet opened as against him has been kept pending for the past 8 years has filed this petition seeking a direction to the respondent Police to delete his name from the history sheet.
2.According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, a case in Cr.No.9 of 2012 has been registered as against the petitioner in the year 2012. The said case ended in acquittal in vide judgment in SC.No.139 of 2012 dated 24.02.2015. However, the respondent Police has opened history sheet based on the case of the year 2012 and are keeping the same pending without any review for the past 8 years.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submits that they will review the history sheet in the next meeting.
4.This Court has considered the submissions made on either side and perused the available records.
5.The history sheet appears to have been opened in the year 2017, when the case against the petitioner was ended in acquittal, in the year 2015 itself. Therefore, this Court is inclined to quash the history sheet. Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed and the impugned history sheet in H.S.No.579 of 2017 is quashed.
