ORDER

This writ petition was filed for a direction to the respondent police to remove the name of the petitioner from the General Conviction Register maintained by the third respondent police.

2.The grievance of the petitioner is that an FIR came to be registered against him in Crime No.27 of 1994 under Section 379 of IPC, when he was 15 years old. The Juvenile Justice Board conducted the trial and ultimately, the petitioner was acquitted by an order, dated 07.03.1994. According to the petitioner, inspite of acquittal, his name continued to be registered in the General Conviction Register. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition was filed before this Court.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, based on the written instructions, received from the third respondent, submitted that the name of the petitioner is not found in the General Conviction Register and hence, the petitioner cannot have any grievance.
