Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to consider petitioner's representations dated 12.08.2013, 11.03.2014 and 25.03.2014 made in the interest and welfare of A/m. Gothandaramasamy Temple situated at Door No.188, Kamarajar Salai, Madurai with regard to the matter initiating legal proceeding against its trustees and appointing "Fit Person"for the said temple. For Petitioner : Mr.P.Sivasubramanian For Respondents : Mr.K.P.Narayanakumar Special Government Pleader

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner wherein the petitioner has sought for initiating proceedings against the Trustees and for appointment of fit person to manage the affairs of the Temple. 1/3

2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that based on the representation made by the petitioner, a notice came to be issued to the Trustees on 19.03.2019 for the purpose of conducting an enquiry and taking a decision to appoint a fit person. The learned Special Government Pleader further submitted that there was no progress subsequently and some time limit may be fixed by this Court for the completion of the enquiry and to pass orders.

3. Heard Mr.P.Sivasubramanian, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.P.Narayanakumar, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the subsequent developments that has been taken place, there shall be direction to the second respondent to complete the enquiry after giving an opportunity to all the interested parties and take a decision strictly in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the second respondent along with a copy of this order.

6. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
