ORDER
This writ petition is filed for Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to remove the petitioner's name in ration card number NPHH333927406936 based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.06.2025. 2.The learned Special Government Pleader on instructions, submitted that there is a dispute between the petitioner and another lady, which culminated in initiating criminal proceedings in C.C.No.159 of 2014 on the file of the District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Papanasam. After completion of trial, the learned District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Papanasam, has acquitted the petitioner from the criminal charges vide order dated 27.08.2021. Therefore, now the petitioner is seeking direction to the respondents to remove the petitioner's name in ration card number NPHH333927406936 based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.06.2025.
3.In view of the above, this Court without expressing any opinion on merits, directed the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.06.2025, in the light of order passed in C.C.No.159 of 2014, dated 21.08.2021 and pass appropriate order in accordance with law. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this 2/4
order. Further, it is stated there is another case pending between the petitioner and the another lady in C.C.No.14 of 2021 on the file of the learned Mahila Court, Thanjavur, wherein a DNA test is sought. It is made clear that the issue of DNA test is a separate cause of action, which is nothing to do with the deletion of name from the ration card. The DNA test shall be Independently considered by the trial Court irrespective of deletion of name from the ration card. 4.With the above clarification, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
