O R D E R

The petitioner claiming to be a resident in S.No.86/2D2P to an extent of 3 cents, seeks patta for the subject land. According to the petitioner, the subject land is a Government Natham Land and he has constructed a house in the year 1960 and since then, he is residing there. Since the petitioner's request for grant of patta has not been considered by the third respondent, he has submitted an application on 21.12.2021 under the scheme ''Makkalai Thedi''. However, the same was not considered. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted another representation on 08.01.2024 and approached this Court, seeking a Mandamus to the respondents 1 to 3 to consider his representation, dated 08.01.2024 for issuance of patta for his land in S.No.86/2D2P. 2/6

2.Mr.P.Thampidurai, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents and submits that based on the petitioner's representation, they are conducting an enquiry. In the event, if the petitioner appears before the third respondent and produces all the relevant materials to prove his possession, they are ready to take a call and pass a suitable order in this regard within a reasonable time. 3.Considering the rival submissions made, this Court, without expressing anything on the merits of the claim made by this petitioner, disposes of this writ petition with the following directions:- i. The third respondent/the Tahsildar (Revenue), Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District is directed to find out the nature of land which is in occupation of the petitioner, the period, for which, he is in possession and pass a detailed order as to the eligibility of patta for the subject land and such a decision shall be taken by the Tahsildar, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

ii. The petitioner is directed to appear before the third respondent and to co-operate for the enquiry.

No costs.
