[Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] The Habeas Corpus Petition is filed for a direction to the first and second respondents to produce the person or body of the detenue, the petitioner's daughter namely Pavithra, D/o.Murugesan, aged about 20 years before this Court and set her at liberty .

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents. 3.It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Pavithra, aged about 20 years, was studying first year at Jamal Mohammed College, Trichirappalli and that the petitioner's daughter had recently got acquainted with one Vigneswaran, S/o.Manikandan, residing in the same locality. To avoid unnecessary

consequences and Social embarrassment, the petitioner had entrusted her daughter to her brother-in-law's care. While so, on 16.05.2025 at 03.30 p.m., when no one was in the home, the missing person went to a nearby shop but she did not return to home. On enquiry, the petitioner came to know that her daughter was missing. The petitioner's brother-in-law had given a complaint before the Chinnalapatti Police Station, Dindigul, on 16.07.2025 and based on which, a case in Crime No.181 of 2025 was registered under the caption for 'Woman missing'. Since the respondent police had not taken any steps to find out the whereabouts of her missing daughter, the present Habeas Corpus Petition is filed. 4.

When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police, on instructions, submitted that the missing person is the daughter of the petitioner and earlier, the petitioner's daughter was missing and later, the missing person had given a complaint before the All women Police Station - Golden Rock on 14.07.2025 stating that due to misunderstanding with her mother, she had gone out and fearing that her mother wold scold her, she had given a petition before the All Women Police Station. Based on which, an enquiry was conducted in CSR No.

188 of 2025 and thereafter, the girl was sent back along with the mother. During such time, the mother had also made a complaint against the said Vigneswaran. The said Vigneshwaran was also called to the Police station and he had informed that he has no relationship with the missing person. Subsequently, the petitioner had taken the missing person and kept her in the brother-in-law's house at Chinnalapatti, from where, the missing person had once again gone along with the said Vigneswaran in a motor-cycle. Therefore, on 16.07.2025, the brother-inlaw of the petitioner has given a complaint before the Chinnalapatti Police Station and a case in Crime No.181 of 2025 was registered under Woman Missing. During the course of investigation, it was found that the missing person had gone along with the said Vigneswaran in a two wheeler. He would further submit that the investigation is going on.

5.Since the missing person is not under illegal detention of anybody, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
