ORDER

Seeking a mandamus to the respondents to consider her representation dated 11.07.2022 seeking the issue of patta in respect of her dwelling house in Naththam Survey No. 675/5 measuring an extent of 6 cents in Niekulam Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District, the petitioner is before this Court.

2. The petitioner would submit that she is residing in the above said address and her husband and son are no more. The said house was allotted to her under the Indra Gandhi Residential Scheme. She has been in possession of the same for over 40 years and the same has been assessed to house tax, which tax is also being remitted by her regularly. In the year 2020, she had applied for a free house site patta in respect of the above natham lands. However, the respondents have not taken any steps to issue patta to her. Her representation dated 11.07.2022 has not yielded any result to date. Hence, the writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4. Considering the fact that the application for grant of patta has been made nearly a year ago and also the fact that the house has been put up under the Indra Gandhi Residential Scheme, a mandamus is issued to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.07.2022 and pass orders within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
