ORDER

The writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to appoint the petitioner in a suitable post on compassionate ground within 1/4

a period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel for the respondent.

3. The petitioner's father, who was working in the respondent Corporation, died on 22.06.2003 The petitioner, being the legal heir of the deceased father, has made an application to the respondent on 25.09.2017 for appointment on compassionate ground. Since the said application has not been considered so far, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that earlier the petitioner's mother has submitted an application in the year 2003, which was considered and vide proceeding dated 08.08.2006, it was informed that the mother's application would be considered based on seniority. Thereafter, since the mother's application was not considered till 2017, in the year 2017, the petitioner made an application, which has not been considered so far.

In the light of the above, there shall be a direction to the respondent herein to consider the petitioner's application and representation dated 25.09.2017 and 28.03.2023 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
