Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner alleges that he is being harassed by the respondent police at the instance of the private respondents herein.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate clarified that the petitioner had collected the chit amounts from the private respondents and few others and handed over the same to the person who was running the chit. It is clarified that the petitioner is not an accused. If at all, his presence may be required as a prosecution witness. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/4

4. Since the petitioner's role has been clarified, the petitioner need not have any apprehension of harassment. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
