..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue Writ of Mandamus calling for the records pertaining to the impugned order of the 3rd respondent in Na.Ka.A4/870/2024 dated 25.11.2024 and quash the same and consequently, directing the respondents to issue patta in favour of the petitioner.

ORDER
The writ petition is filed challenging the order passed by the third respondent rejecting the request of the petitioner seeking issuance of patta in respect of the land in which the petitioner had put up construction with Door No.3/191 in Mutharamman Kovil Street, Ponnankurichi Village, Velur Athichanallur Post, Srivaikundam Taluk, Thoothukudi District.
2. Heard Mr.P.Rajkumar, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.D.S.Nedunchezian, learned Government Advocate, who took notice for the respondents. By consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. A reading of the impugned order would indicate the petitioner's building is situated in S.No.630/2 which is classified as Thamiraparani River in the village revenue records. Since the petitioner is in occupation of the land which is classified as a river, the occupation of the petitioner is objectionable one. Hence, the request of the petitioner for issuance of patta was rejected by 2/4
the third respondent. I do not find any error in the order passed by the second respondent. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. 01.08.2025 (2/2) NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet:Yes PJL To
