PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus direction directing the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to provide patta of 18 1/2 cents of land situated in S.No.310/1A to petitioner's society namely Manpanda Thozhilalar Sangam, Puliyankudi and consequently direct the respondents to remove the encroachments made by the respondent No.3 in S.No. 310/1A situated at Puliyankudi Village, Sivagiri Taluk, Tirunelveli District, within the time stipulated by the this Court. O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.] The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to issue Patta for 18 1⁄2 Cents of land, situated in Survey No.310/1A to the petitioner's society and consequently, to direct the respondents to remove the encroachments made by the third respondent in the said survey number, within the time stipulated by the this Court.

2. The petitioner, who is an Association, namely, Manpanda Thozhilalar Sangam, cannot maintain a writ petition in respect of the grievance relating to issuance of patta and removal of encroachments, which is the grievance of the individual members. Thus, the Association cannot maintain this writ petition for redressal of the grievance of its members.

3. Therefore, granting liberty to the individual members of the petitioner - Association to approach the Authority concerned for redressal of their grievance, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
