PRAYER: Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to give electricity service connection to the petitioner dwelling house at Natham S.No.247/2A1 respectively situated in Sirukalapur Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District in petitioner name on the basis of the petitioner's application submitted by petitioner on 28.08.2023 on getting necessary charges within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to give electricity service connection to the petitioner's dwelling house at Natham S.No.247/2A1 situated at Sirukalapur Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District on the basis of the petitioner's application submitted by petitioner on 28.08.2023 on getting necessary charges within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.It is the case of the writ petitioner that the property in S.No. 247/2A1 belongs to him. He applied for obtaining electricity service connection to the respondents on 28.08.2023. However, the same was not considered for want of patta.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the patta for the subject property stands in the name of the petitioner. However, the respondents without verifying the records had merely directed the petitioner to obtain patta for obtaining electricity service connection. 5.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner had applied for 3A1 service connection, however, he is residing the subject property. Hence, the application of the petitioner could not be processed and if the petitioner makes an application seeking domestic service connection, the respondents are ready to process the same.
6.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is residing in the same place. Hence, he applied for 3A1 service connection. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to apply for domestic service connection.
7.In view of the above submission, the petitioner is directed to 3/5
make a fresh application seeking domestic service connection along with the necessary documents. On receipt of such application, the respondents are directed to consider the same on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
8.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
