O RDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking for a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation and file the final report in Crime No.200 of 2023 within a time frame being fixed by this Court.
2.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has lost 90 gms of gold, worth about Rs.3,40,000/- on 26.07.2022, on which a complaint is filed before the learned Magistrate, which was referred to the police under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C., on which a case in Crime No.200 of 2023 has been registered. However, there is no substantial progress in the investigation. According to the petitioner, there is no clue in respect of the alleged offence and the petitioner was travelling in a pubic transport service and she got down near the market and later realized that she lost the gold jewels and she has not given any clue including the CCTV footage.
3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that the police have been actively investigating the case and so far 5 witnesses were examined and the 2/4
investigation is still pending. It is submitted further that there is no CCTV footage, where the offence alleged to have been committed and requested time to complete the investigation and file the final report. 4.Considering the fact that the investigation is in progress, the respondent police are directed to complete the investigation in respect of Crime No.200 of 2023 and file the final report as expeditiously as possible, not later than four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above directions, this Petition is disposed of.
