[Order of the Court was made by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.] The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to construct a permanent bus stand in any place in Tirumangalam for the plying of Mofussil Buses from Tirumangalam to the rest of the State with all basic amenities and consequently, to arrange drinking water facilities and free toilet facilities in the local town bus stand Tirumangalam, Madurai District.

2. Exercising the power under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, we are not inclined to give any such direction as sought for by the petitioner. If no bus stand is available in the locality, it is for the petitioner to make necessary representation to the authority concerned

requesting to provide basic amenities in the existing bus stand or for constructing a new permanent bus stand in the locality.

3. In the result, this writ petition is dismissed. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. [D.K.K., J.] [R.V., J.] 15.02.2024 Index :
