ORDER

[Order of this Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Heard Mr.M.R.Sreenivasan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Murugan, learned Government Advocate, for the official respondents. By consent on either side, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner by way of this writ petition seeks for removal of illegal encroachment in a public street comprised in Survey No.288/1, 29/1 of Melamagnam Village, Alankudi Village (group), Tirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District.

3. The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, submitted that not only the respondents 5 to 11 are encroachers, but the petitioner is also encroacher. After taking necessary measurements, proceedings have been issued to the Block Development Officer, Kallal, who will take action by issuing notice to all persons, who are all encroachers.

4. In the light of the fact that the proceedings have already been forwarded to the authorities concerned, we direct the said authority to take action in accordance with law expeditiously and conclude the proceedings within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Tahsildar, Thirupathur Taluk shall monitor the course taken by the Block Development Officer.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
