PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioners representation on 29.04.2022 and to restore the prior position of patta to include the petitioner's name as joint pattadhar in S.No.1/1 in 0.81.0 Hectare in 0.50.0 i.e. 1 Acre 24 Cent, bearing Patta No.29 Pangeyathankudi Village, Aranthangi Taluk, Pudukkottai District. 1/5

The case of the petitioner is that he is one of the pattadhar for the land in S.No.1/1, Pangayathankudi Village, Aranthangi Taluk, Pudukottai District. The Tahsildar, Aranthangi Taluk/the second respondent herein has removed the petitioner's name from the joint patta without any notice. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted an application before the Tahsildar to include the petitioner's name in the joint patta as it was in existence, by a representation, dated 29.04.2022 and has approached this Court that this application has not been considered by the respondents so far.

2.Mr.M.Sarangan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2 submits that the petitioner's name was wrongly entered in the joint patta and it was corrected subsequently by order dated 18.10.2022. He further 2/5

submits that the representation of the petitioner has been forwarded to the first respondent for further action.

3.Considering the rival submissions made, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Aranthangi to consider the representation of the petitioner under Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act,1983 and take a decision as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
