PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to give suitable instructions to the second respondent to furnish the proper details in respect of the deposit of the compensation amount for acquiring the land for house site to the harijanas family in S.No.367, 368/1 and 368/2 to an extent of 4 acres 3 cents in Veerapandi Village, Theni District by disposing the petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2023. 1/5

The petitioner has approached this Court that the respondents have not paid the compensation amount for the land which has been acquired from his father in the year 1978. 2.Mr.P.T.Thiraviam, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents, on instructions, submits that the land was acquired from the petitioner's father one Perumal Pillai in the year 1978 and after the enquiry, compensation of Rs.29,842.15/- was deposited in Indian Bank Esplanade, Madras in the name of the Registrar, High Court of Madras in SB Account No.14443, dated 08.09.1984. The learned Government Advocate has also produced the relevant proceedings of the Director of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, Chepauk, Madras, dated 04.09.1984, the proceedings of the Special Tahsildar (Land Acquisition), Adi Dravidar Welfare, 2/5

Uthamapalayam, dated 05.09.1984 and the communication dated 02.01.1985 addressed to the Registrar, High Court, Madras. 3.Considering the fact that the petitioner's request for compensation for the land, which has been acquired from his father in the year 1978 has already been awarded in the year 1984 and deposited before the Court, this writ petition is disposed of with a liberty to the petitioner to file necessary application for withdrawal of the amount along with the required documents.
