PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated settlement of petitioner's retirement benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity, Commuted Value of Pension and Leave Salary for the period from 30.06.2023 to 16.04.2025 within the time limit that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent transport Corporation seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of the retirement benefits.

2.The petitioner has retired from service on 30.06.2023, and his terminal benefits have been released only on 16.04.2025. The petitioner has sent a representation on 09.06.2025, seeking payment of interest. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.Considering the above said facts, the respondents are directed to pay 6% interest from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4.With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
