ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 528 B.N.S.S., seeking orders to direct the respondent police to expedite 1/4

the investigation in the case in Crime No.99 of 2011 on the file of the respondent police and to file a final report within a stipulated period.

2. It is seen from the records that on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner, FIR came to be registered in Crime No.99 of 2011 on 08.08.2011 for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 341, 323, 324 and 506(2) IPC.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that though charge sheet was made ready in 2012 itself, the same was not filed before the jurisdictional Court.

4. It is very shocking to notice that though charge sheet was made ready in 2012 itself, they have not chosen to file the same for the past 12 years. Hence, the respondent is directed to file the final report within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the jurisdictional Superintendent of Police is directed to take necessary action taking note of the lapse within a period of two months from the 2/4

date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
