ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned notice issued by the second respondent dated 13.06.2025 and consequently direct the respondents to waive the loan availed by the petitioner vide jewel loan Nos. GJL456, GJL521 and GJL570.

2. The petitioner appears to have borrowed a sum of Rs.2,05,000/- in the year 2012 by way of three jewel loans for a sum of Rs.57,000/-, Rs.18,000/- and Rs.1,30,000/-.

It is specifically admitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner had not paid a single installment and therefore, the second respondent has now passed the order dated 13.06.2025 demanding the amounts specified therein. The details of the respective jewel loans and amounts due from the petitioner as on date is below: t.vz; fld;

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is partially blind and aged about 59 years presently and that he was unable to discharge the loan due to the deteriorating eye sight. It is submitted that the petitioner is willing to pay the lesser amounts and prays that the second respondent may remit the amounts due against the respective jewel loans mentioned above.

5. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents submits that there is no scope for granting any remission by the second respondent. It is submitted that at best, the petitioner's representation can be considered and disposed of, if the petitioner makes such a representation before the first respondent.

6. Considering the fact that the petitioner is willing to come forward to repay the loan availed in the year 2012, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the petitioner to submit a representation before the first respondent 3/5

together with a sum of Rs.2,50,000/- to the second respondent within a period of thirty days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Subject to the petitioner depositing the aforesaid amount within such time, the respondents shall consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation if any within a period of 6 weeks thereafter.

7. The writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
