ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the Special Court under TNPID Act, Madurai, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.2/2010, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2.The grievance of the petitioner is that even after 12 years, no progress is made in the above said case.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that 93 witnesses have been examined and the case is posted to 23.09.2022 for examination of witnesses. Accused no.2 was absconding and later, he was arrested. Another two accused expired.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that there are totally 200 witnesses. Out of which, 93 witnesses have been examined. Even though, case is of the year 2010, because of the number of witnesses involved, it may take some time.

5.Considering the oldness of the matter, there shall be a direction to the Special Court under TNPID Act, Madurai, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.2/2010 and complete the trial process within a period of 6 months 2/4

from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
