Seeking quashment of the proceedings in Crime No.207 of 1/4

2025, on the file of the first respondent police, this petitioner has approached this Court, on the ground of compromise. 2.The case of the prosecution is that on 23.05.2025, the petitioners trespassed into the house of the defacto complainant, scolded him in filthy language, threatened him and also damaged the house hold articles worth Rs.7,000/-. Therefore, based on the complaint lodged by the defacto complainant, a case in Crime No.207 of 2025 has been registered as against these petitioners, for the offence punishable under Sections 329(4), 296(b), 115(2), 351(3) of BNS and Section 3 of TNPPDL Act.

3.Today, when this Criminal Original petition is taken up for admission, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the issue between the petitioners and the defacto complainant has already been settled amicably and therefore, the proceedings in Crime No.207 of 2025, on the file of the first respondent police has to be quashed. 4.Though the petitioners claim that the issue between the petitioners and the defacto complainant has been settled amicably, no 2/4

proof of document has been filed by the petitioners to that effect. 5.In the absence of any documents that the issue between the petitioners and the defacto complainant has been settled amicably, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition. Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition is dismissed, however, liberty is granted to this petitioner to file a fresh petition along with the necessary documents in proof of compromise.
