2 W.P.(MD)NO.13229 OF 2015 Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to restore the possession of the petitioner in S.No.92/3 of A.Muthammalpuram Village Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District and give adequate compensation for the illegal demolition of the petitioner's house as this Court may deem fit.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner reports no instruction.

2. The prayer in the writ petition is two fold: a) To restore the petitioner's possession over the petition-mentioned land and b) To give adequate compensation for the demolition of their houses.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the land in question was classified as sarkar poramboke. The petitioners were in unauthorised occupation. Only after giving due notice, they were evicted. The petitioners have been given alternative accommodation by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board.

4. In view of the statement made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, nothing survives for further adjudication. This writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
