PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent no.1 to grant patta to the petitioners land in survey nos.174A2 and 173-A,in an extent of 1 Acre situated at Ottanchathiram, Palani Taluk, Dindigul District.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the authorities to grant patta for the writ petitioners.

2. According to the writ petitioners, the land in dispute was originally allotted in favour of the writ petitioners' father, namely, Perumal by Tamil Nadu State Boodhan Board on 01.07.1980. After the death of the said Perumal, his legal heirs are enjoying the said property. However, the revenue authorities are yet to issue patta in their favour. The petitioners have sent a representation to the revenue authorities on 27.11.2014. The District Collector has forwarded the said letter to the fourth respondent for passing appropriate orders. Hence, as on today, the 2/4

request for patta made by the writ petitioners is pending before the fourth respondent. The fourth respondent is directed to consider the same and pass orders in merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording opportunity to the writ petitioner.

3. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
