ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed to direct the respondents No. 1 & 2 to produce the body or person of the detenue, namely Madathi, wife of Mariappan, aged about 32 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's daughter was married to one Mariappan and that they have three children out of the wedlock. While so, the nephew of the petitioner's son-in-law had criminally intimidated the petitioner's daughter and taken her in a motorcycle. Since the whereabouts of her daughter is not known, the petitioner had given a complaint to the respondent police. Since the respondent police have not taken any action, she has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions would submit that initially the petitioner had given a complaint through registered post alleging that her son-in-law's nephew one Krishnakumar had kidnapped her daughter. The petitioner was summoned to the police station. On 27.07.2025, she appeared before the Sub Inspector of police and informed that her daughter was

not kidnapped by anybody and that she has gone along with the third respondent Krishnakumar. He would further submit that it is not a case of illegal detention and the respondents are continuing with the investigation.

4. Recording the above said submission, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed directing the respondents to continue with the investigation.
