ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus, directing the respondents not to allow any unauthorized passenger vehicle from other State to enter into the Kanyakumari District, thereby indulge in pickup and dropping of the passengers within the District and gain monetary profit out of the transportation by spoiling the livelihood of the local van drivers. 2/5
2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the Writ Petition was filed in the year 2014 and the issue has lapsed due to efflux of time. As of now, there is no such issue pending in the Kanyakumari District. However, the contention of the petitioner is that the respondents have imposed violation fee only for the vehicle that is being plying by Kerala State Registration vehicle, but has not taken any permanent solution to put an end to the activity.
3. Therefore, this Court is of the considered opinion that the respondents shall formulate a permanent solution to stop the unauthorized vehicle from other State plying in the Kanyakumari District. Hence, the respondents are directed to design permanent solution to the aforesaid issue.
4. In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 13.07.2023 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Nsr 3/5
