2. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, restraining the respondent herein from in any manner collecting the donations from the public or any other private institutions etc., for conducting the Book Fair and Literacy https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis ____________

W.P.(MD) No.21856 of 2022 Festival from 16th to 26th September 2022 at Trichy by considering the petitioner's representation dated 10.09.2022.

4. It is the grievance of the petitioner that in order to conduct the Book Fair and Literacy Festival at Trichy, the respondent has issued proceedings in Na.Ka.No.G4/2417/2022, dated 30.08.2022, whereby he appointed various incharge officers for collecting donations from the public, industrialists, shop owners, educational institutions, Engineering Industries, etc., by fixing huge target amount for each Government Officer, for the successful conduct of the said festival. Hence, this Writ Petition.

5. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submitted that the District Collector, through his proceedings in Na.Ka.G4/2417/2022 dated 02.09.2022, has withdrawn his earlier proceedings dated 30.08.2022 and hence, nothing survives in this Writ Petition.
