: Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the appeal Na.Ka.No.171/2018 [Patta No.1230] within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioner purchased the property in Survey No.236/2, Natham Village, Abiramam, Kamuthi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, from one Selvanayagam on 23.07.1974. The petitioner has given a petition to the Tahsildar to effect name transfer, but, still, the property stands in the name of his brothers mistakenly. Aggrieved over non-consideration of his petition, he approached the respondent for direction, directing the Tahsildar concerned to issue orders. In spite of the same, the respondent has not given any direction. Hence, this Writ Petition.

2. Mrs.J.Padmavathy Devi, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondent and points out that the direction should be given to the Tahsildar, Kamuthi, since the Revenue Divisional Officer is an appellate authority.

3. Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to give a representation to the Tahsildar, Kamuthi, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such representation being received, the Tahsildar, Kamuthi, shall pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks thereafter, after giving notice to all the parties concerned.
