ORDER

Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the contemnor/second respondent herein for disobedience and failure to comply this Court's order dated 20.03.2023 in W.P(MD)No.6003 of 2023.

2. By the order dated 20.03.2023, the second respondent was directed to convene the Peace Committee Meeting to resolve the issue between two groups of people.

In pursuance of the above said order, the learned counsel for the second respondent and also the Officer from the second respondent's office submitted that on 31.03.2023, the Peace Committee Meeting was arranged. In the above said meeting, this petitioner along with one Rajkumar appeared as A Party. On the side of the B Party, four persons participated. During the above said discussion, some sort of objection was made by the B party to the effect that son of this petitioner continuously involved in criminal intimidation, assault extra. Now there is a resolution in the village that not to receive any tax from the 2/5

petitioner's family. But however, they are permitting to participate in the temple festival and extra. Resolution was also adopted that participation of both the parties in temple festival and extra. So far, refusal of receiving tax from this petitioner, they were approached the competent civil Court for expressing their grievance. Assurance was also given by B Party not to prevent the petitioner's family to participate in the temple festival and extra.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he was prevented from participating the above said Peace Committee Meeting.

5. But the report of Revenue Divisional Officer, Pattukkottai, dated 31.03.2023, indicates that A Party refused to sign in the resolution. He is also extracted the grievance that was expressed by this petitioner before him. So, contention on the part of this petitioner that he was prevented from participating the above said meeting is absolutely incorrect. Hence, I find absolutely nothing survives for further consideration or direction in this matter. The parties are directed to abide by the above said resolution. If still they got any difference of opinion 3/5

over the issue regarding collection of tax, extra, the petitioner can workout his remedy through appropriate proceedings.

6. With the above said direction and liberty, this Contempt Petition stands disposed of.
