This petition has been listed for extension of time pursuant to the letter sent by the concerned Trial Court.

2. The learned Sessions Judge, Special Sessions Court for POCSO Act Cases, Kanniyakumari District at Nagercoil by his letter dated 18.02.2026 has sought further time to dispose of the case in Spl.S.C.No. 40 of 2022.

3. This Court had already directed the Sessions Judge, Special Sessions Court for POCSO Act Cases, Kanniyakumari District at Nagercoil to dispose of the case in Spl.S.C.No.40 of 2022 within a period of four months from the date of receipt of the order. The Sessions Judge, Special Sessions Court for POCSO Act Cases, Kanniyakumari District at Nagercoil in his letter stated that pursuant to the order of this Court issued summons to the witnesses and the prosecution has produced witnesses with a delay however so far examined 28 witnesses. In the mean time some miscellaneous petitions have been filed and some of the witnesses have been recalled for further cross examination. Thereby there was a delay and he was not able to complete the trial within the time stipulated by this Court and prayed to extend the time. Further stated that as of now 28 witnesses were examined and remaining three witnesses will be examined.

4. Considering the request made by the learned Sessions Judge, Special Sessions Court for POCSO Act Cases, Kanniyakumari District at Nagercoil and also considering the facts and circumstances of the case, time already granted by this Court to dispose the case in Spl.S.C.No.40 of 2022 is extended by another two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
