ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to accord police protection for the Mulaipari event of their temple festival held on 03.09.2024 and 04.09.2024 at Arulmigu Mariamman Temple, Siruvayal Village, Paramakudi Taluk,

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that there are two community groups in that village and there existed issues between them.

3. Mr.R.Murugan, learned counsel would submit that one Balusamy and three others filed an intervening application today. He would further submit that unless and until the entire villagers are allowed 2/4

to participate in the Mulaiparti event, it will lead to perennial and permanent division among the same community people affecting the further generation also.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that they have no objections for others to worship in the temple.

5. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the second respondent is directed to issue notice to the petitioner as well as the other groups involved and take a decision with regard to conduct of festival within a period of three days from today.

6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. No costs. 27.08.2024 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No das Note: Issue order copy on 27.08.2024.
