ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner /Accused, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 10.07.2023 for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w. 20(b)(ii)(c), 29(ii) (A) and 25 of NDPS Act, in Crime No.294 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. Considering the fact that the commercial quantity was recovered even though the other accused were granted bail, considering the fact that the accused, who was granted bail had absconded and case is split up and now, the trial is in progressing, at this juncture, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

4. The learner Additional Public Prosecutor submits that now the case stands posted on 09.09.2024 for examination of LW.2 and there are totally 17 witnesses in this case.

5. considering the fact that already directions were issued to complete the trial early, the trial Court is requested to take up the matter for expeditious disposal and as far as possible post the matter for trial at least two hearings per week and complete the trial as early as early as possible.

6. With the above observations this Criminal Original petition stands dismissed.
