Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant of service and monetary benefits to the petitioner as an associate professor with effect from the year 2016 and as a professor from the year 2019 in the respondent university by considering the petitioner's representation dated 07.09.2023 in light of the order made by this Court in W.A (MD)No.145 of 2013, dated 14.03.2018, within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by an Associate Professor working in the Department of Music, Tamil University, Thanjavur, seeking a mandamus directing the University to grant service and monetary benefits to the petitioner as an Associate Professor with effect from the year 2016 and as a Professor from the year 2019 onwards.

2.Seeking the said benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation to the respondent on 07.09.2023, which has also been acknowledged by the respondent herein. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.On instructions, the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, if a direction is issued for consideration of his representation dated 07.09.2023.

4.Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to consider the representation of the writ petitioner dated 07.09.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
