PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to release the petitioner under premature release on the basis of G.O.(Ms)No. 488 Home (Prison-IV) Department dated 15.11.2021 or under Advisory Board Proceedings in accordance with Rule 341 of the Tamil Nadu Prison Rules 1983 or any appropriate Government Order or under any other Premature release scheme issued by the 1st respondent by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.08.2024. 2. The petitioner is undergoing life imprisonment in Central Prison, Palayamkottai. He was convicted and sentenced in S.C.No.61 of 2003 on the file of the Principal Sessions Judge, Thoothukudi. The petitioner seeks premature release. He has given a representation dated 13.08.2024.

3.We direct the first respondent to pass order on the petitioner's application on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. We have not gone into the merits of the matter.
