ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to quash the original impugned enrollment status dated 13.08.2024 via Enrollment No.2726/11212/4432 uploaded by the 1st respondent with regard to the rejection of the petitioner's request meant for changing of her name as "KALAISELVI" in my Aadhar Card Vide No.4219 7377 4240 and consequently direct the first respondent to carry out the correction of her name as "KALAISELVI" in

her Aadhar Card pursuant to the petitioner's application uploaded on 21.06.2025 vide enrollment No.2726/10322/01313.

2. The petitioner has earlier made two attempts to change her name as "KALAISELVI" instead of "SELVI" and date of birth as "19.08.1988" instead of "15.07.1988". Therefore, the respondents have rejected the petitioner's third attempt.

3. Mr.K.Govindarajan, learned Deputy Solicited General of India, on instructions, submitted that any such correction beyond the permitted limit shall be considered by the Regional Office of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Bengaluru.

4. In view of the above, this Court is directing the petitioner to approach the Regional Office of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Bengaluru, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Thereafter, the concerned officer shall consider the petitioner's claim and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four (4) months therefrom.

5. With the above said direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected writ miscellaneous petition is closed.
