The petitioner challenges the enquiry notice dated 18.07.2014 issued by the Tahsildar, Agasteeswaram in his capacity as Executive Magistrate.

2.It is seen that the said authority had initiated proceedings under Section 145 of Cr.P.C. In the very nature of things, such proceedings are intended to tide over an emergent situation on temporary basis. The cause of action dates back to the year 2014. We are now in 2020.

3.Therefore, the impugned proceedings stand quashed and this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.. It is always open to the authority concerned to initiate action afresh and in accordance with law. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
