Prayer in Crl.OP(MD)No.6041/2019 To direct the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.218 of 2014 and to file final report in accordance with law within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. O R D E R

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondents for the deliberate and wilful disobedience of the order, dated 26.04.2019 passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD).No. 6041 of 2019.

2. By order, dated 26.04.2019 this Court directed the respondents to file final report, in Crime No.218 of 2014, within a period of six weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that after the order passed by this Court, the entire investigation in Crime No.218 of 2014 has been transferred to the file of the Inspector of Police, Alanganallur Police Station, Madurai District. The statement is recorded.

4. In view of the aforesaid submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the Inspector of Police, Alanganallur Police Station is directed to file final report, within a period of Two weeks from the date of receipt a copy of the order.

5. With the above directions, the Contempt Petition is disposed of.
