The petitioner was working in the Police Department. Based on the criminal case, a disciplinary proceedings was initiated and he was awarded with a punishment of reduction in time scale of pay by three stages for three years which shall operate to postpone his future increments. W.P.(MD)No15161 of 2015 appeal and the punishment was reduced to two years. Subsequently, a Review Petition was filed and the punishment was reduced to one year and the petitioner filed a Mercy Petition which was rejected. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has preferred the present Writ Petition.

2.During the pendency of the Writ Petition, the petitioner has attained superannuation and retired from service. Therefore, the prayer has become infructuous. Recording this statement, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
