Mr. A.K. Manikkam, learned Special Government Pleader, for the respondents would submit that the writ petition has been rendered infructuous by the passing of G.O.(Ms) No. 10 dated 14.01.2020 as per which an amendment has been brought to the Special Rules in Annexure IX, Rule 8, wherein the requirement of Collectorate Service for a period of one year and eight months has been omitted. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ _____________ Page No.1 of 2

2. The mandamus as sought for by the petitioner is not liable to be granted in sofar as the amendment aforesaid has been made retrospective with effect from 20.02.2015, which is the date of the original Government Order in G.O.(Ms) No. 93 Revenue (Service 6 (1)) Department dated 20.02.2015.

3. The writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
