PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take immediate action based on the complaint dated 22.05.2023 made by the petitioner to the respondents for taking immediate action against the real culprits who has indulged in the act of misusing the True Caller App according to his whims and fancies thereby exhibiting filthy words in the nature of tarnishing the image of the petitioner and the petitioner's companies staff, namely, Sathya and to take action against the culprits in the manner known to law within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a mandamus directing the respondent Police to take action against the complaint given by the petitioner, dated 22.05.2023.
2. According to learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner is a respectable businessman from Theni and one of the customers of the petitioner has informed the petitioner that in the True Caller App, the petitioner's name has been shown inappropriately by a mischievous person. Accordingly, the petitioner stated to have made a complaint to the True Caller App management and thereby, the mentioning of name inappropriately as a pimp and clamping the staff as prostitute was deleted. Subsequently, the petitioner has filed a complaint dated 22.05.2023 before the Cyber Cell to take action against the culprits. Since no action has been initiated, the petitioner has sought for suitable directions.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) has submitted that in the True Caller App, nothing is mentioned as alleged by the petitioner, however, the Cyber Cell Police have addressed a letter to the True Caller App management, as suitable reply has not received, the Police will address one 2/4
more letter way of an Email and will get an information as to the IP Address of the person, who has actually mentioned the name inappropriately in the True Caller App. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) requested four more weeks time to dispose of the representation of the petitioner.

In view of the submissions made by both sides and perused the records, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent Police to give quietus of the representation of the petitioner dated 22.05.2023 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
