PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to forbear from granting approval to the proposed construction of building plan of Annai Velankanni Church at Palayam, Meycode Post, Kanyakumari District.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction as against the respondents 1 to 4 to forbear them from granting approval to the construction of a Church by the respondents 5 and 6 herein.

2. According to the petitioner, the building is being constructed without proper approval and permission from the official respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the first respondent herein has produced an order of the first respondent, dated 20.10.2020, under which the request of the respondents 5 and 6 for construction of a church in Survey No.109/15C has been rejected. Since the prayer of the petitioner has 2/4

already been complied with by the first respondent herein, no further orders are required in the present writ petition. However, the respondents 5 and 6 are at liberty to challenge the order, dated 20.10.2020 passed by the first respondent herein, if they are so advised.

4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
