No. 37/6, (Now sub divided as 37/6A1E -30 Cents 37/6A1B-30 cents, 37/6A1D-24 cents, 37/6A1C-24 cents ) an total extent of 1 acre 8 Cents Ayan Ulaganeri Village, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai pending disposal of O.S. No. 67 of 2008 on the file of the District Munsif, Madurai Taluk based on the petitioner's representations dated 03.12.2024, 12.12.2024, and 25.01.2025.

O R D E R

The petitioners seek to restrain the Tahsildar from granting patta to the seventh respondent in respect of the properties mentioned in the prayer of this Writ Petition.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for 2/4

respondents 1 to 3.

3. The Tahsildar is required to consider applications for the grant of patta in accordance with the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983. Therefore, the relief claimed by the petitioners cannot be granted. It is, however, open to the petitioners to raise objections before the Tahsildar and all such objections are required to be considered by the Tahsildar before a decision is taken.

4. With these observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of without notice to the private respondents. No costs. W.M.P.(MD) No. 27116 of 2025 is allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
