2.I went through the contents of the affidavit filed in support of this Writ Petition. The 2nd respondent vide impugned order has rejected the petitioner's request for issuance of assignment patta.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents points out that the site in question has been classified in the revenue records as belonging to Highways Department. Obviously, such a land cannot be parted with by issuing free patta. Therefore, the impugned order in the Writ Petition is sustained. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed.
