ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 12.08.2024 seeking for a rectification of error in the patta with regard to the extent of land in Survey No.588/5 to an extent of 79 3/4 cents of Levinjipuram Village, Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli District within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The petitioner, as the owner of the land in S.No588/5 to an extent of 79 3/4 cents of Levinjipuram Village, Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli District, attempted to get individual patta in his name. At that time, he came to know that in the joint patta the entire extent of the land in survey number was erroneously mentioned as 25.50 ares. The petitioner approached the respondents to rectify the error and issue new patta number in his favour. The petitioner also sent a representation on 12.08.2024. As the respondents did not act on the petitioner's 2/5

representation, the petitioner filed the above Writ Petition for the aforesaid relief.

4. The learned Government Advocate on instructions submits that in pursuance of the petitioner's representation, an enquiry has already been initiated.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

6. In view of the submission of the learned Government Advocate, the respondents are directed to conduct the enquiry and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
