ORDER
This writ petition is filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to correct the petitioner's father's name as Veerana Thevar instead of Maayee in Patta No.1938 and to issue patta in the petitioner's name for the house site situated at Rayapanpatti (Revenue Village), Anaipatti, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District in Survey No.443/91 (Old Survey No.231-4) 893/1B to an extent of 0.1.07 ares, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 01.08.2024 within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.
2.The case of the petitioner is that the property in question belonged to his family and it is a free house site and patta was issued in the name of his father Veerana Thevar in Patta No.1938. After his demise, the petitioner constructed a house and he is residing there and he 2/5_________
is also remitting the house tax and electricity bills. Therefore, the petitioner applied for patta transfer on 27.07.2024 through online to the third respondent. At that point of time, he noticed that his father's name has been wrongly entered as Maayee in the patta in Patta No.1938. This name was nick name but, originally his father's name is Veerana Thevar. Since he was known as Maayee in the locality, it appears that this name was incorporated in the patta passbook. In view of the said mistake, the petitioner was unable to get patta in his name. The petitioner had provided documentary evidence to show that his father's name is wrongly entered and sent a representation. So far no action has been taken. Hence, the present petition is filed.
3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 5.Considering the request of the petitioner and also the fact that the petitioner has made his representation on 01.08.2024, a mandamus is issued to the respondents to rectify the petitioner's father's name as 3/5_________
Veerana Thevar instead of Maayee in Patta No.1938 and to issue patta in the petitioner's name, after verifying the original documents in respect of the property in question, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
