ORDER
The petitioners seek to quash the FIR in Crime No.651 of 2025 on the file of the first respondent Police, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 77, 118(1), 296(b), 351(3) and 303(2) of BNS, 2023.

The gist of the allegation in the impugned FIR is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners had attacked the defacto complainant with hands and iron rod, abused him in filthy language and also snatched 1 1⁄2 sovereigns of gold jewel and Samsung mobile phone from the defacto complainant and also threatened him of dire consequences and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the allegations made in the impugned FIR are false; that the petitioners are not professional thieves or robbers; that the FIR has been foisted against the petitioners as there was a wordy quarrel between the petitioners and the defacto complainant since the petitioners were making fun of the ladies, who attended the temple festival; that in any case, a counter complaint has been lodged as against the defacto complainant and others; and that the same was quashed by this Court, pursuant to the compromise arrived at between the parties in 2/5
Crl.O.P(MD) No.17549 of 2025, dated 22.10.2025. He would further submit that the parties have now arrived at a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 27.10.2025.
4. The petitioners and the second respondent, namely, Murugan (Aadhaar No.8620 5495 9408) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.T.Chinna Alagu, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Sellur Police Station, Madurai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No.651 of 2025, dated 26.05.2025 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 27.10.2025 shall form part of this order. 28.10.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Indu 3/5
