ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking orders to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her family members.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner, FIR came to be registered in Crime No.144 of 2024 on 25.07.2024 for the alleged offences under Section 296(b) BNS, 2023 and Sections 3(a), 4(1) and 7 of Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955 and that investigation is pending.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that even after registration of FIR, she has given a representation for police protection but no action was taken.

4. Considering the above, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.08.2024 and take a decision within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
