ORDER

This writ petition is filed to quash the impugned Refusal Check Slip No. RFL/Athirampattinam/73/2025 dated 07.07.2025 issued by the respondent and consequently to direct the respondent to register the General Power of Attorney Deed dated 07.07.2025 presented by the petitioner.

2.Through the impugned order, the respondent stated that since the land belongs to the temple, the same cannot be registered. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is seeking to register only the General Power of Attorney Deed dated 07.07.2025. Therefore, the same cannot be refused. He

further submitted that this Court has already considered a similar issue in W.P.(MD).No.16907 of 2025, vide order dated 01.07.2025 and held that the petitioner was only seeking to register the power deed and therefore, DTCP approval cannot be sought.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submitted that in the present case, it cannot be registered because it is a temple property.

5.After hearing the arguments, this Court is of the opinion that any power deed cannot be refused to register by citing any reason. Hence, the impugned order is liable to be quashed.

6.Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed. The impugned Refusal Check Slip No. RFL/Athirampattinam/73/2025 dated 07.07.2025 issued by the respondent is hereby quashed. The respondent is directed to register the General Power of Attorney Deed dated 07.07.2025 presented by the petitioner. The respondent is having power to seek all the

statutory documents, which are necessary for registration. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
