This Writ Petition is filed praying for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the Respondents to allow the Petitioner to perform the customary practice of Aruval Sathal function at Arulmigu Thiruvettai Ayyanar Thirukovil, on 09.10.2022.
2. Mr.M.Siddharthan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the Respondents 1 to 3.
3. The learned counsel for the Petitioner submitted that the petitioner has submitted a representation to the 3rd Respondent on 13.08.2022, seeking permission for conducting the above rituals / practice.
4. In response, the learned Additional Government Pleader for the Respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the proposed function is scheduled to be held on 09.10.2022 and therefore, an appropriate order would be passed by the 3rd Respondent in accordance with law on or before 28.09.2022.
5. In view of the same, a direction is given to the 3rd Respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 13.08.2022, on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 28.09.2022. In the meantime, the 4th Respondent may submit a report, if any, to the 3rd Respondent, on the subject matter.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
